Sentence Structure: Word pieces are inside the ball. Each player tries to form a sentence from the words they pull from the ball on their turn. Keep your sentence forming hidden from other players. The first person to form a sentence calls out "BALL GAME" and if their sentence is correct, they win! Advanced play; you get more points for more adjectives or more developed sentences. One point per word. Select words that are more complicated to use in a sentence have bonus points on the back. However, waiting to get a better sentence for higher points can be the end of you too because someone else might call out first.
Teachers will also find that the ball game is fun to use for test preparation or story comprehension. Place review questions in the ball and toss it about for answers. For stories, place symbols or items that were talked about in the story and whoever pulls an item out, explains it's importance in the story. There are many ways of using the ball.
